In preparing to serve at Via, we would ask that you'd take a few minutes to ponder each of these statements and the biblical significance to serving. There is a vital distinction to be made–we aren't just a non-profit organization in need of volunteers, but rather, we are a local expression of God's Church and we get to serve one another, reflecting the way Jesus has served us!
“We say yes because serving displays our deep love for others”
"For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Galatians 5:13-14 ESV
“We say yes because blessing is found in serving out of a heart that has been served by Jesus.”
"When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. “We say yes because serving embraces the needs of others above our own.”

“We say yes because the Church is a family and we all contribute.”

“We say yes because God is glorified when we use the gifts he’s given us to serve others.”

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ."
