We have the ability to diagnose the problems of our world–poverty, injustice, violence, etc., but fail to properly see the origin of these problems, our heart. All things flow from the heart. The corruption of our world has not come from the outside, but from inside the human heart. Our hearts are desperately wicked. Well, this is encouraging. This is actually a portion of the good news, because until we see what has gone wrong, we won't understand the Gospel rightly. The good news of the Gospel is that restoration comes from the outside (Jesus has come) and by the Spirit's power, our hearts are rewired and made new.
